서 론
복귀섭리(復歸攝理)는 타락된 인간으로 하여금 창조목적(創造目的)을 완성케 하기 위하여, 그들을 창조본연(創造本然)의 인간으로 복귀하여 나아가는 하나님의 섭리를 말하는 것이다.
The providence of restoration refers to God’s work to restore human beings to our original, unfallen state so that we may fulfill the purpose of creation.
전편에서 이미 논증한 바와 같이, 인간은 장성기 완성급(長成期完成級)에서 타락하여 사탄 주관하(主管下)에 머물게 되었다. 따라서 이러한 인간을 복귀시키기 위하여는 먼저 사탄을 분립하는 섭리를 하셔야 하는 것이다.
As discussed in Part I, human beings fell from the top of the growth stage and have been held under Satan’s dominion ever since. (cf. Creation 5.2.1; Fall 4.1) To restore human beings, God works to cut off Satan’s influence.
이미 기독론(基督論)에서 상론(詳論)한 바와 같이, 타락인간이 사탄을 분립하고 타락 이전 본연(本然)의 인간으로 복귀하려면 원죄(原罪)를 벗어야만 한다. 그런데 이 원죄는 인간이 참부모로 오시는 메시아에 의하여 중생(重生)되지 않으면 벗을 수 없다. 그러므로 타락한 인간은 사탄 분립의 노정을 통하여서 아담과 해와가 성장하였던 기준, 즉 장성기의 완성급까지 복귀한 형을 갖춘 터 위에서 메시아를 맞아 중생함으로써 아담과 해와의 타락 이전의 입장으로 복귀된 후에, 메시아를 따라 더욱 성장하여서 창조목적을 완성하는 자리에 이르게 되는 것이다.
Yet, as was explained in Christology, we must have the original sin removed before we can sever Satan’s bonds and be restored to the state before the Fall. This is possible only when we are born anew through the Messiah, the True Parent. To explain further: we first need to go through a course to separate Satan from ourselves. We do this in order to restore ourselves in form to the spiritual level which Adam and Eve had reached before the Fall – the top of the growth stage. On this foundation, we are to receive the Messiah and be reborn, and thereby be fully restored to the original state of human beings before the Fall. Finally, by following the Messiah, we should continue our growth to maturity where we can fulfill the purpose of creation.
이와 같이 복귀섭리는 창조목적을 다시 찾아 이루려는 재창조(再創造)의 섭리이기 때문에, 어디까지나 원리(原理)에 의하여 섭리하시지 않을 수 없는 것이다. 그러므로 이것을 복귀원리(復歸原理)라고 한다.우리는 여기에서 복귀섭리가 어떻게 하여서 이루어지는가 하는 것을 알아보기로 하자.
Since the providence of restoration is God’s work of re-creation, which has as its goal the fulfillment of the purpose of creation, God works this providence in accordance with His Principle. In the course of the providence of restoration, this principle is called the Principle of Restoration. Let us study how the providence of restoration is to be accomplished.
