Etymology
永 (영) - long, deep, forever遠 (원) - far away
Eternity cannot be contained within a time frame, but time is part of the structure of eternity.
Everything has a beginning and an end. Both good and bad things, once begun, will someday end. If it is something good, it may take a long time for it to bear fruit, but the results will go down in history. If it is something bad, the results will show immediately. The good keeps pace with eternity, while the evil is only relevant for the moment. An act that comes to naught quickly is designed for the brief moment, but an act that persists for a long time is designed for eternity.
Eternity does not begin when we die. It begins the moment we discover our Destiny. Once we know it, if we hesitate even for a moment, eternity is immediately interrupted.
Life on earth is short, but the world after death is eternal. This is why we live our lives in such a way as to prepare ourselves for the world of eternity.
