Etymology
正 (정) [jeong] – straight, upright, correct
直 (직) [jik] – straight

The Korean word for honesty (jeongjik) is composed of two Chinese characters, 正 meaning “right” and 直 meaning “straight.” The law establishes what is straight. With the law, we separate good from evil and distinguish between right and wrong.

А person who lives in accordance with the law we call as an honest person.

It’s important to be an honest person. An honest person unites the ideal of Heaven and the ideal of people in one central point. The one who puts all his heart and soul into people will be able to win their hearts.

Honesty is more about relationships. The basis of family relationships is mutual understanding. It is important to internally unite with each other and build relationships based on honesty, to be open to each other.

In this way, we can build good relationships in the family, at work, and as a team.
