[saran-eun saengmyeongboda gwiada]
愛은 生命보다 貴하다
Etymology
愛 (사랑) [saran] – love
生命 (생명) [saengmyeon] – life
貴 (귀할) [ gwial] – valuable

Do we live to eat three times a day? Or maybe we only care about getting eight hours of sleep at night? No. What we live for is love. This is how the Creator created us. Therefore, men and women willingly sacrifice their lives for the sake of their loved ones. The word “holy” must be associated with love; it is only in the context of love that the word takes on meaning. Forexample, a husband who is able to sacrifice himself for his wife can be called a holy man. The same is true for the wife. A person who is ready to die for the sake of his parents can be called a respectful child, a holy son or daughter. A person who gives his life for the sake of the nation can be called a holy patriot. Similarly, a person who gives his life for the benefit of all mankind is a holy righteous man.

Can anyone buy true love with money? How much more valuable is love in the heavenly world? What is more valuable – life or love? Love. But why? It doesn’t matter how long we live. Our biological existence has no value until we have experienced love. Every man or woman has their own holy of holies. Life cannot automatically connect us to it, but love can.

Love has the highest value. Our love does not belong only to us, it exists for the benefit of others. We must humbly bow before love. After all, only with its help can we connect with the Creator, the center of the Universe. Love has power and dominion over all creation.
