Coast

The shore is the boundary between the ocean and the land. The ocean must join the land, and the land must join the ocean. Only on the coast is the boundary where the purpose of land and ocean overlap. In the future, when people realize the value not only of land, but also of the ocean, the coast will become the most important. The time will come when coastal areas will become more valuable than all other pieces of land.

Looking at the origins of cultures, we will see that seaports and peninsulas where land connects to the ocean were the cradle of civilizations. Similarly, looking at the birthplaces of ancient cultures – for example, Greek and Italian civilization – we will see that they emerged on a peninsula in proximity to an ocean or a major river. That civilizations developed in such places is a historical fact.
