There are two kinds of forces that create motion in the universe. It is the forces of action and the forces of counteraction. Some people think that “counteraction” implies something bad; they think that only action is desirable. But without counteraction, there is no defense. There are two forces in the human body: the force that pushes you forward and the force of resistance. With the interaction of these two forces, we can keep the body in good shape; we need a balance of these two forces. Thus, we can’t assume that opposition automatically implies something bad.

What causes our body to ache when we are sick? The illness itself? No. Pain is generated by a universal law of protection. As long as our body maintains a harmony of plus and minus, we are protected. But as soon as we lose it the universal force having “reprimanded” us, warns us that the balance is broken. To restore that harmony, certain unhealthy elements must be brought out. So, the pain we may feel is the result of a universal law that brings us back to harmony. As the state of balance between plus and minus is gradually restored in our body, our well-being steadily improves and the pain eventually ceases.

The law of the universe automatically protects the unity of plus and minus; this unity must not be interfered with, lest it be disturbed. This unity is the highest purpose of the universe. In this case, it is only natural that one minus would repel the other. This kind of conflict produces a harmony of the highest order. Two positive charges are mutually repulsed, as are two negative charges.

The actions of attraction and repulsion are equally necessary. Therefore, we should not see counteraction as something negative, it is part of the universal law that protects the universe.

What about good and evil? Are they also opposing forces? Can evil somehow be positive? No. Evil is a counteraction, but counteraction is destructive. It creates nothing.
